Speed Racer Movie Synopsis
The plot revolves around Speed Racer, an 18-year-old race car driver who follows the career of his dead brother
Speed Racer is a young man whose life and love has always been car racing. His parents, Pops and Mom, run the independent Racer Motors, which also involves his brother Spritle and his pet chimpanzee Chim Chim, his mechanic Sparky, and his girlfriend Trixie.
As a child, Speed idolized his record-breaking older brother Rex Racer, who was killed while racing in the Casa Cristo 5000, a deadly cross-country rally race.
Now embarking on a career of his own, Speed quickly took the racing world by storm with his skills behind the wheel of his brother's Mach 5 and his own Mach 6 T-180.
One day, EP. Arnold Royalton, CEO of the Royalton Industries conglomerate, offered Speed a very lavish lifestyle in exchange for signing on to race with him. Although tempted, Speed refused due to his father's distrust of the power-hungry company.
Enraged, Royalton revealed that for years, the main competition had been determined by corporate interests, including himself, for profit. Royalton takes out his anger on Speed by having his drivers force Speed into an accident that destroys the Mach 6 and sues Racer Motors for intellectual property infringement.
Speed gets a chance to retaliate through Inspector Detector, head of the intelligence agency's corporate crime division. Racer Taejo Togokahn allegedly has evidence that could indict Royalton but will only file it if Speed and the famously masked Racer X agree to race alongside his team in the upcoming Casa Cristo 5000, which could also significantly boost the share price of his family's racing business. In the meantime, blocking Royalton's orchestrated buyout. Speed agreed but kept his decision secret from his family, and the Detector team made some defensive modifications to the Mach 5 to help Speed in the race.
